CAMCHEV Kickoffs Free Cancer Screening and Awareness Campaign in Maroua, Cameroon

Our Cancer Screening and Awareness Project officially took off in Maroua with a major sensitisation campaign on 24 October 2026.

Free screening for breast and cervical cancers began on 26 October at the Maroua Regional Hospital, with strong turnout from women in the community. Screening continues through 31 October, while prostate and colorectal cancer screening will run from 9–14 November at the Maroua Reference Hospital.

Today, CAMCHEV members joined the team at the Regional Hospital to encourage participants and urge them to help spread the message within their communities. Sensitisation was also interpreted into Fulfulde to improve accessibility and reach.

Training for health personnel follows tomorrow, alongside further media sensitisation, including an appearance on CRTV.

The impact is already taking shape, with more women accessing free screening and cancer-awareness information.
